Milan's First Roman Street Food

Caesar bee

Ape Cesare is Milan's first Roman street food, created with the aim of showcasing the quality food and spirit of the capital. In 2016, when brand founder Alessandro Favola, class of '91, arrived in Milan from Rome, he immediately felt nostalgia for his beloved supplì. To make up for this lack, he decided to start Ape Cesare. Thanks to its success, Ape Cesare is now an established Roman street food brand. Events, catering, numerous food trucks, a location in via Lambertenghi in the Isola district, and one in via Varesina, in the brand new Certosa District, also in Milan. A proposal that includes supplì, sandwiches and snacks that feature typical Roman products and recipes in street food version, accompanied by a fun, caciarone and, of course, Roman mood.

THE STORY.

Ape Cesare was born in 2016 from an idea of Alessandro Favola, a Roman DOC transplanted to Milan born in '91. Arriving in the Milanese capital for work reasons, Alessandro, as a true lover of his hometown, immediately feels nostalgia for the Roman street food par excellence: the supplì. Following in the footsteps of the already famous American food trucks, he decided, therefore, to found Ape Cesare, an apecar in constant movement within the city of Milan that would serve crispy and steaming supplì, made according to the traditional Roman recipe. With a clear reference to the Roman greeting addressed to emperors, the design of Ape Cesare's first means of transportation and sales incorporates the classic red and white colors of the Roman toga and the traditional laurel wreath. With the passage of time, and thanks to an increasing acceptance by the citizens of Milan, the brand has expanded, not only the "truck" proposal by including the caravan and the bike, but also the gastronomic offer. In 2022 it finds a permanent home inside Sidewalk Kitchen, a food court in the center of Milan, before moving to the Isola neighborhood in September 2023. Ape Cesare opens its second store in December 2023 in the Certosa District, also in Milan.

PHILOSOPHY

The secret of Ape Cesare's success certainly lies in its quality reinterpretation of Italy's and the world's most beloved Roman recipes in a street food key, but also in its ability to recreate that genuine, fun and unabashedly

language, typical of the capital city. Indeed, the company's mission has always been to introduce Milan and the Milanese to Rome in three hundred and sixty degrees. Not only through the gastronomic tradition under a new point of view, that of street food, but also the vibe of the capital that is characterized by laughter, sympathy and lightheartedness, perfectly embodied by Alessandro. For this reason, at the basis of the brand's philosophy is a singular dynamism made explicit, not only in the constant innovations of the menu, but also in the frequent collaborations with other brands and in the celebratory events of occasions such as Carbonara Day. In the brand's mission, moreover, there is the goal of moving away from the stereotype of a Rome that is often tied to the past and not very in step with the times. The company is fresh, young and constantly growing, supported by an exceptional team that works hard daily to offer the best possible service to all its loyal customers.
