DR. GIN

DrGin was born in Salento in Porto Badisco, on the east coast, between Otranto and Santa Cesarea Terme, a point where myth and legend meet. Right here Our idea was born, two friends, Fabio and Luigi, strong in their passion and love for this distillate, we decided to interpret it in our own way. We have known each other for years, since I started going to Luigi's seaside restaurant, and from there a deep friendship was born, strengthened also by the passion for gin. Luigi, is the owner of "Aeneas' Landing," a seaside restaurant. I, on the other hand, am a dentist, precisely the "Dottor," I lived in Madrid from 2008 to 2013, and it was there that my passion for gin was born, and for everything that revolves around this world (tonics, botanicals, production method). I then returned to Italy and the passion has continued until today.

The idea of making our own gin, was born from Luigi who proposed me to develop a recipe for his restaurant, which however we did not want to keep for ourselves, but to share with the lovers of this distillate. To interpret a gin in our own way, appealed to us, but above all to do it by exploiting the resources and potential of our territory and climate. The choice Dr Gin, comes precisely from my profession (Fabio), the dentist. Thus the abbreviation for "doctor." I had been imagining a gin with this name since 2013. Future plans include not only opening our own bistro dedicated to production, tasting and training with masterclasses, but our biggest dream is to make our gin a resource and opportunity for the area, to take Salento out of our region and why not, even out of our nation, making the most of our resources. The year 2023 has been a year of great satisfaction, our first born, Dr Gin Distilled, obtained 4 international awards, in the best American and London competitions, placing first and third respectively. Recognitions that allowed us to showcase ourselves by comparing ourselves with important realities of world spirits.

How to taste our gin?

For us, the best way to taste Dr Gin is with the classic Gin tonic, recommending an Indian tonic, Fever-Tree, all served in a tall tumbler or highball, filled with ice, 4cl of DrGin and 18cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic.
